CYBER SECURITY SPECIALIST

Responsible for analyzing IT specifications and overall security risk, implementing appropriate security measures, and responding to security breaches. Ideal candidates will have extensive knowledge of cyber security, networking systems and response management, along with the ability to identify security gaps in the network, implement appropriate security measures, and quickly respond to threats before they affect business activities.

Your Tasks

  • Assesses the status of company IT, network, and security systems, making recommendations for required action steps or corrections
  • Designs and implements security technologies and practices
  • Aligns solutions with Global Security Team
  • Inspects and upgrades hardware to address vulnerabilities
  • Upgrades security software on company systems as needed, running penetration tests on upgraded systems as needed
  • Inspects and tests security of the network on an ongoing basis
  • Responds to security threats as needed
  • Creates and drafts security policies and guidelines, training staff on security protocols where appropriate
  • Continuously monitors organizational compliance against established security standards such as NIST SP 800-171 and ISO 27001
  • Manages security vendor relationships
  • Supports business units in assessing and responding to security and compliance requests from customers
  • Responsible for additional duties and projects as assigned

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience, required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in cybersecurity
  • Extensive knowledge of hardware and networking systems
  • Knowledge of NIST 800.171 and CMMC controls and requirements along with implementation solutions
  • Familiarity with back-end programming languages, including C++ and PHP
  • Working knowledge of enterprise application security principles and techniques
  • Advanced knowledge of security frameworks and risk management
  • Experience with implementing and maintain detection systems, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems
  • Outstanding analytical problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of cryptographic and key infrastructure protocols
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate requirements clearly to the business as needed

Additional Information

  • Able to work at a computer for extended periods
  • Able to travel to Germany, San Diego and Mexico offices as needed
  • Office setting: noise levels low to moderate
